The Passenger Vehicle Plant of Renault do Brasil resumed production, after eight weeks of interrupted activities when works to increase production capacity started in the Complexo Ayrton Senna, in São José dos Pinhais – PR.
This expansion was part of the investment plan of BRL 1.5 billion announced for the 2010-2015 cycle, of which BRL 500 million are for developments at the Complexo Ayrton Senna. Production capacity of this compound rose from 280,000 to 380,000 cars per year. The conclusion of works enabled the automobile plant – responsible for manufacturing models Duster, Sandero and Logan – to produce one car per minute as of 2013.
The automobile plant resumes activities with a completely new infrastructure. Works comprised all the productive process stages, such as stamping, bodywork, paintwork, assembly, logistics and others. And CROMO ENGENHARIA was a part of this process with the following developments between 2012/2013:
- 15 Fossos
- 11 Special Floors and Foundations
- 1 Industrial Waste Treatment Station
- 2 Foundations and Dykes
- Medical/Out-Patient Centre
- Total area: 4457.6 m2
- Concrete: 1232.0 m3
- Steel: 65.6 tonnes
- Earthwork: 4757.1 m3
The production capacity expansion project was an authentic technological challenge for Renault do Brasil. Building “a new plant inside the plant” required cutting-edge engineering work and the technological know-how of the worldwide Renault-Nissan Alliance. In all, almost 1.2 thousand people worked in this development. “The success of this project shows the technical qualification and engagement of everyone. The teams involved in the process deserve our congratulations. With this project, we took another important step in our growth process and reinstated our commitment to offering quality products to the Brazilian market”, said Olivier Murguet, President of Renault do Brasil.
