The unit of Otacílio Costa, in Santa Catarina, was acquired by KLABIN in October 2000. It is the largest kraft paper mill in South America and the second largest unit of Klabin. It produces packaging paper, with a capacity of 350 thousand tons/year. It also markets logs of pine and eucalyptus. The forest area covers 138,000 hectares: 61,000 hectares of planted forests of pine and eucalyptus trees and 65,000 hectares of preserved native forest.
